3 Bells Embroidery
Elizabeth Frye
"In 1999 -- My wonderful DH bought me a Deco 600 as a surprise. I loved it!! I embroidered everything! Then I discovered digitizing and people would run from me -- afraid I would embroider something on them! Soooo I got a good friend to design me a webpage and started selling on the net. Haven't stopped since!" . . . keep reading

Bunnycup Embroidery
Meet Ashlea Stoodley here...
"I purchased my first embroidery machine in 2003 after a neighbour gave us an adorable quillow as a baby present for my daughter. I was fascinated a sewing machine could do that. I had never really done any sewing before that (no one in my family was a sewer) and I thought it would be fun to learn. Since the day I purchased that first machine, I have been addicted." . . . keep reading

Daffy Down Dilly
Meet Mimi Deck here...
"I bought my first embroidery machine in the early 90's when Brother came out with the PE-100. Over the years I have done a lot of embroidery by hand but being able to do it quickly with a machine fascinated me. In addition, machine embroidery allowed me to "multi-task" -- Sewing while embroidering!" . . . keep reading

Embroidery Designs by Carolyn
Meet Carolyn Faulk here...
"I got my first new Embroidery machine in 1996. I also got the "PE-Scan scanner" so I could scan my drawings into it and assign stitches, etc. It was SO limiting! Seems so crude compared to having digitizing software that I got at a later date." . . . keep reading

Hennessy Embroidery
Meet Justine Hennessy here...
"I plunged right into digitizing right from the beginning. Like most people, I thought it would be easier than it is. I find digitizing to be an interesting combination of artistic and technical challenges that exercise the entire brain." . . . keep reading

Jojomi Embroidery Design
Meet Joan Willhoit here...
"I've been sewing and hand embroidering since I can remember and have always been intrigued by Machine embroidery. Working with computers for the last 20 years the two just seemed to go together. When we got our tax refund two years ago and Hubby said you get half I drove as fast as I could to the local Janome dealer and purchased the 300E. It's been the greatest thing I've ever bought." . . . keep reading

Krafts and Kreations
Nancy Burbacher
"My original intent was to just use the machine to create gift items to supplement the ceramic art pieces I was creating and selling through a gift shop in a nearby city. I had been teaching ceramics as a hobby for several years and selling pieces was a natural progression to support a hobby that had gotten out of control" . . . keep reading

Perfect Little Stitches
Meet Mary Jane Allen here...
"My very first embroidering machine was a Singer Ultra Unlimited. There was no software -- few homes even had computers in the early 1980's. The designs were pretty crude and I knew nothing of stabilizers or embroidery threads. In 1996, I bought a Pfaff 7570 and the PC Designer software so I could create my own embroidery designs" . . . keep reading

Punchwork Studio
Meet Kris Congo here...
"Here is how I got hooked into machine embroidery. I answered an ad for home sewers, it was to sew certain items, send them back to the company and if they passed inspection you would get paid. Well the items required basic sewing skills, so that was fine, but then some other items required hand embroidery on the front. WHAT? Hand Embroidery??" . . . keep reading

R&M Crafts
Meet Mary Bynum here...
"Year 2001. I was inspired by a friend who had built and decorated fabulous doll houses. Ron was going to build our granddaughters dollhouses. My contribution was to make counted cross-stitch rugs and decorations for the doll houses. I suddenly discovered that I could no longer see well enough to hand embroider. I have a Singer Featherweight that was left to me by my aunt which I was using to do a little sewing. I took it to the "shop" to get it serviced and while there I was introduced to a Janome 10000. I had to have it so I could embroider those little rugs, make dollhouse curtains, pillows, etc. That was the beginning" . . . keep reading

R&M Crafts
Meet Ron Bynum here...
"I retired from my corporate job about 4 years ago. Looking for something to keep me busy in all that spare time I was certain I would have, I began to focus on my lifelong love of photography. At the time Mary was already heavily involved in machine embroidery as a hobby. Having been a trouble shooter most of my life, I soon found myself helping her solve problems and finding better ways to do things. My interest in her hobby grew rather rapidly. It wasn't long before we began discussing the possibility of turning her hobby into a business. I thought the potential was there so we did just that. We opened our embroidery web site in 2004 and my photography once again took a back seat." . . . keep reading

"My husband talked me into joining a quilting group in 2003 for a hobby & to meet new friends. Whilst shopping for quilting fabric I saw an embroidery machine being demonstrated & was fascinated by it. Don encouraged me to purchase the Janome 9500. I brought it home & was to frightened to use it for awhile so decided to join a group & have lessons. I love making machine embroidered quilts - but have run out of beds in our home so decided to make a quilt for our caravan" . . . keep reading

Meet Susan Meyer here...
"I learned to digitize about 3 years ago because the girls would see something in the store and ask me if I could make something like it. Digitizing and the graphic elements of it come naturally to me because the focus of the work I did in journalism was on graphic, computer-based publishing " . . . keep reading
