This entire months freebies are dedicated to those who are in, will be in, or have been in a battle of breast cancer. All those who have survived, and those who have not. The following information is based on NCI's SEER Cancer Statistics Review. It is estimated that 178,480 women will be diagnosed with and 40,460 women will die of cancer of the breast in 2007. Those numbers scare the heck out of me! Breast cancer is the 5th leading cause of death in American women. I am sure the numbers are just as scary in other countries as well. Many of us have been touched by this disease. I personally have been lucky. My sister had a scare about 2 years ago. Thankfully her tumor was benign. I know many are not that lucky. On my website www.stitchitcheap.com I will put up a new design (FREE) on Friday's in honor of those who are fighting or will be fighting this courageous battle. Just received a tip from one of my customers: Follow all instructions but DO NOT rinse the solvie... just trim both, organza and solvie very close to all edges, sew together with zig-zag. Any solvie left overs can be dabbed away with some warm water. Result: Your new candle shade will give a nice "dimmed" effect, perfect for Christams!
